Puke Ariki
Puke Ariki is a 6000 sqm Museum, Library and Visitor Information Centre in New Plymouth, incorporating state-of-the-art technology to present Taranaki-specific history and information.
3D Creative developed the interior layout, finishes, interpretation of 3 exhibition galleries, a multi sensory theatre experience, discovery centre and library.
The interior concepts, layouts and details were developed by the design team of eight interior, industrial and graphic designers and writers, within a 20 month program. 3D Creative worked extensively with the people of Taranaki and Puke Ariki staff to identify and capture the essence of the special environment and culture of Taranaki.
Specialist contractors and suppliers worked under 3D Creative to develop and install over 3000 taonga, artefacts and models, 5000 graphics, 140 display cases, 35 audio-visual and computer interactives and over 3000 special-effect and display lights.
Puke Ariki won awards in the 2006 NZ Creative Places and the 2006 Best Design Awards
